The introduction of Led light sources has brought several benefits compared to that of traditional lamps. These new sources have characteristics of high efficiency and duration, allowing savings in terms of maintenance, replacement lamps and energy consumption. Leds can have multiple sizes, wattages and shapes to suit the most complex design and decorative requirements. The light emitted can be of different shades and color rendering and does not radiate heat and UV rays so it is more versatile and more healthy for human beings.

Six Steps Bring more Lighting Retrofits Benefit

Lighting accounts for about 20 percent of all commercial electricity consumption. A single building can have thousands of light fixtures, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars a year to operate. If you're considering a complete lighting retrofit for your business, these six steps will help you generate larger savings:

1. Replace Existing Lighting Fixtures.

The starting point for every lighting upgrade is replacing your old incandescent or metal halide lights with newer fluorescent or LED fixtures. However, if you stop there, you’ll be missing out on the potential for even bigger energy savings.

2. New Lighting Design, Layout & Specification.

Often, your old lighting layout isn’t ideal for new energy-efficient lighting technology. A lighting retrofit is the perfect time to consider adjusting your layout to improve your overall lighting quality and energy efficiency.

3. Lighting Control Automation.

Have you ever forgotten to turn the lights off when you left the area? This simple and common mistake ends up costing businesses billions every year. Because you're redesigning your facilities, you can easily integrate a new smart lighting control system to turn lights on when somebody enters the area and turns them off when everyone leaves.

4. Outdoor Lighting Retrofits.

Outdoor lighting is often overlooked, but it's important for a number of reasons. Adequate lighting is necessary to create a safe working environment, but it can also showcase signs, landscaping, and other outdoor fixtures. Newer outdoor light fixtures typically last longer, which can save your business significant money in maintenance costs.

5. Specialty Lighting Fixtures.

Offices, hallways, reception areas, and storage rooms often dominate lighting design. However, stairwells, cold storage rooms, wet rooms, and loading docks require specialized light fixtures. Specialty lights are designed to improve safety, and rugged designs allow them to continue running with little to no maintenance.

6. Energy Retrofit Rebates and Incentives.

Comparison,Replacement,Energy saving

A lighting retrofit can be a hard sell in a struggling economy, but it won't be as expensive as you think. Although the initial price tag might be high, many state governments and utility companies provide financial rebates for companies to upgrade their facilities with energy efficient light fixtures. While rebates will vary from state to state, you should be able to save at least 10 percent off of the cost of a lighting retrofit. However, the biggest cost savings will come over time as you dramatically cut energy costs through increased efficiency.

Which means the consumed electricity by HTI LED light is about 10% of incandescent light bulb or 50% of CFL.

If your place is installed with all incandescent light bulbs, suppose you change all into HTI LED lights, now please take out your electricity bill, from the very next month, you only need to pay 10%.

And please pay attention to the streets in your city, if all the Metal Halide street lights are replaced by HTI LED street lights, your municipal government only pays 40% from the very next month, try to estimate how many street lights installed in your city, and try to imagine if the saved amount all invested for improving environment, how better your living could be?

Benefits of LED lights

> No UV or IR radiation.

> No Flicker or Noise.

> No Lead or Mercury

> Instant and bright light.

> Energy efficiency – Most of HTI LED lights are with high energy efficiency above 88%.

> Low or No maintenance. HTI LED lights are equipped with top grade chips and reliable drivers with excellent design for sounded heat dissipation, which ensures stable working in guaranteed period.

> Long life – LED lights can last well in excess of 50,000 hours. Incandescent light bulbs typically last around 1,000 hours and fluorescents are good for roughly 6,000 hours. In comparison, LED lifespan is about 50 times of incandescent and 10 times of fluorescent.

> Luminous Efficiency – Most of HTI LED lights are with high luminous efficiency above 80 Lm/W, and still we are seeking to achieve at higher level by using top grade Cree XP chips of 139 Lm/W.

Compare Lifespan and Lumen Performance between LED and other Lights

Obviously we see:

1. LED prevails any other light source in lifespan and lumen performance (> 50,000 hours at 70% performed).

2. Up to 100,000 hours (> 11 years continuous life) can be projected.

Why Led lighting solution?
Technology is changing lives at a pace never before witnessed in all of human history, and with it, the way we see the world. More than a hundred years ago the incandescent filament brought illumination to the night, multiplying human productivity at an exponential rate. Later, fluorescent light rose up as a power-saving alternative to the incandescent.

Now there is a new source of light and once again on the cusp of transformational change – Light Emitting Diodes, more commonly known as LED. A low power and high-efficiency technology created with non-toxic materials, LED lamps are the next generation lighting device, leading the way into the green age of illumination. Because LED lighting is safe, long-lasting and increasingly cost-effective, it will play an important role in creating a more environmentally sustainable future for many years to come.

Since year 2007, LED lighting has witnessed wider acceptability in all types of lighting applications like Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Automotive Exterior, Decorative, etc in addition to the successful applications like Signaling, Display, Signage, Indication etc. The evolution of White LED’s in different Sizes, Power Ratings and Brightness with ever increasing efficacy has opened new horizons in replacing conventional lighting products.

Some of the reasons why LED lighting is the most suitable lighting device to replace the existing age old lighting products are as under:

Low Maintenance Cost

LED lamps can last up to 50000 hours with proper thermal and power management – 25 times longer than incandescent, 20 times longer than halogen and 8 times longer than compact fluorescent lamps. Such high life spans will not only reduce ever increasing maintenance cost but will also protect the place of application from wears & tears which is caused by removing the fixtures for maintenance at regular intervals.

Reduce Energy Bills

Energy consumption can be reduced by up to 80% compared to standard Dichroic low-wattage halogen, Incandescent lamps & CFL Downlights – critical in a time when energy costs are skyrocketing. Low energy usage translates directly into significant cost savings, especially in commercial applications where large quantities of lamps are used for longer durations. In addition, LED lights generate very low heat compared to any of the existing lighting devices thereby lowering energy costs on Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, etc.

Protect the Environment

Lower energy usage leads to less Power generation requirement thereby saving the environment from less CO2 emissions in atmosphere and also saving of natural resources like Coal, Petroleum, Water, etc. In addition, LED’s are Solid State Devices there by devoid of toxic mercury and other gases used by existing lighting sources like CFL, Halogens, etc. LED based lighting technology is by far the only green lighting alternative available which doesn’t require sacrifice in color, appearance and functionality.

No Harmful Rays

LED’s do not radiate any Ultra Violet (UV) or Infra Red (IR) rays which can be harmful to humans. Due to the absence of UV ray emissions, Insects do not get attracted near the light source which is observed very often in public places and Industrial setups. Sectors like Food Processing, Pharmaceutical Industries, Restaurants, etc can benefit largely from such UV free light sources.

Low Voltage Operational

LED lights can be operated at low DC voltages which makes them one of the most suitable light sources for Solar based lighting solutions and automotive interior lighting solutions.

Led lighting Core

The fundamentals of LED lighting technology are majorly driven by the following aspects:

Thermal Management:

Thermal Management in LED Lighting products is a crucial area of research. It is imperative to keep the temperatures of the diode inside the device to certain specific temperatures. In case the temperature increases to unacceptable limits, the diode degrades in performance resulting in early failure. The engineering used for designing the lights at HTI LED enables and ensures efficient thermal management of LEDs thus delivering longer lifespan of the products.

Optical Management:

The optical management in LED Lighting is required to display the end user performance of illumination. This defines the beam angle of the light with minimum loss and desired distribution of light, thereby expressing its functionality. At HTI LED, we have ensured to use the best available optical materials for obtaining optimum results.

Power Management:

Electrical and power management in LED Lighting is seen as one of the most challenging areas for engineering and manufacturing to meet the desired performance and lifespan of luminaires. HTI LED has ensured use of quality parts for constant current supply in the product thus making the products adhere to the norms of surges, harmonic distortion and electromagnetic interferences.

Aesthetics:

The look, feel and appeal of lighting products are essential for having the area look as good. Keeping this in mind, HTI LED products have been designed in a way where the product is made sustainable, economical yet aesthetically pleasing with great level of flexibility to suit the user’s requirement.

Led Basic information

LED Picture

Light-Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are often small in area (less than 1 mm), and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern.

LEDs present many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifespan, improved robustness, smaller size, and faster switching.

LEDs are powerful enough for room lighting and require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.
